Columbia Broadcasting System, since 1927.
Why only five new entries for CBS? They simply don't need more right now. Fill a few holes here and there and they'll still be the #1 overall network, American Idol notwithstanding.

A little shuffling of CBS Sunday starts with the 39th season of 60 Minutes. Viva Laughlin bows in October with Hugh Jackman in only a recurring role. Cold Case powers on for its fourth season, followed by the recently moved Shark. Shark on Sunday is a good move, but it will get push from ABC. I don't expect Viva to be around very long.

CBS Monday is a traditional night of comedy. Mother, the new Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men and Rules of Engagement. CSI: Miami starts its sixth season in its customary slot. Normally CBS wins the night, however, Dancing with the Stars and the new NBC Monday could give it a little pressure.

Drama rules the night on CBS Tuesday. Unlike ABC, it's a male-skewed drama night. NCIS, The Unit and the all-new Cane. I really like CBS' chances to run the night. Looking forward to seeing Jimmy Smits as the lead.

CBS has the most stable sked on the seemingly all-new, all-net Wednesday. Possible child-labor law violator Kid Nation is the only new show for CBS. Criminal Minds and CSI: NY return exactly where we left them. With all the new programming, the night really is anyone's guess.

The old is new again on CBS Thursday with Without A Trace rejoining Survivor and CSI. The night, however, is very different with ABC's stepping up. Interesting how CBS didn't use its post-CSI slot as a launching pad for something new.

CBS Friday has a nice supernatural theme starting with the returning Ghost Whisperer, the all-new Moonlight and Season 4 of Numb3rs. CBS still has the edge.

CBS forgot Saturday like everyone else. Some encores and 48 Hours Mystery.

The Eye is in great shape. There's not a whole lot to dissect here.
