Fox Broadcasting Company, Since 1987.
I'm not the first, nor will I be the last to illuminate the fact that Fox has two seasons, pre-Idol and Idol. I expect Idol to debut around January 21, with 24 in that neighborhood as well. Both are expected to return to their customary slots.

Fox is trying to play for the whole season and Fox Monday kicks it all off. Prison Break returns and leads into the first new scripted show of the season, K-Ville. Heroes will be an issue for the New Orleans-set crime drama.

Bones moves to Fox Tuesday and gets right into the 8pm mix and is followed by Fox's biggest non-American Idol show, House, which only has Dancing to really deal with at 9.

Kelsey Grammer & Patricia Heaton return to series TV with Back To You. Brad Garrett's surprisingly renewed 'Til Death fills the hour for the only 2 comedy half-hours of the night. Screaming chef Gordon Ramsay is back to assist failing restaurants in Kitchen Nightmares. Wednesday has the most new programming of any night, with literally only three hours unchanged. Lots of competition for Fox, I'm not expecting much.

Games galore on Fox Thursday. Foxworthy and fifth graders, followed by Brady and lyrics. Solid, if unspectacular numbers from Fifth Grader, and nearly nothing from Lyrics due to intense competition in the slot.

Music moves Fox Friday. The Next Great American Band probably won't catch fire like its sister show, American Idol, but Rockstar fans will be checking it out. Nashville interests me, but the first episode has already aired and nearly no one watched. Fox.com?

They should just rename Saturday to be CopsAMW night. Two decades. Damn.

As I mentioned at the top, pre-Idol and Idol, yet unlike last season, it looks like they are actually trying. Like I'm sure I've mentioned elsewhere, keep some shows on and let them build an audience before you yank 'em. Fox should make some gains before DeathStarIdol orbits your TV.
