Fire up the TiVo. We've got NINE new shows for Wednesday, with the 9pm hour offering four new shows alone.
ABC blew up Wednesday and is dropping three new dramas. Building a night from scratch is quite difficult. Pushing Daisies leads off and should take the hour. I'm forecasting Private Practice to be the big winner of the season and help Dirty Sexy Money. I like that ABC is focusing on a single voice: dramas with comedy (please don't say dramedy to me) that appeal to 25-54 women.
CBS is the least changed of any network on the night. Probably the most heard about show all summer (not quite for the reasons they were hoping), Kid Nation starts the night. The soon-to-be Mandy Patinkin-less Criminal Minds returns as the only known commodity in the 9pm hour followed by the fourth season of CSI: NY.CW's pairing of America's Next Top Model and Gossip Girl should work nicely together by CW standards.
Fox has the only sitcoms of the night, traditional sitcoms at that. Back to You and 'Til Death are in the 8pm hour, while Gordon Ramsey returns for more fun in the kitchen on Kitchen Nightmares.
The night is up for grabs, with CBS having the edge due to existing progamming. Of course, all bets change when the American Idol Results Show rolls into town. Private Practice wins the night.
