Sunday. Domingo. Dimanche. Sonntag. Zondag.
Is Sunday the last day of the week, or the first? First for the night, at least during the NFL season, is NBC.

ABC brings back the entire schedule, untouched. America's Funniest Home Videos has been on longer than ER. That's insane. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition can drop the Home Edition. We get it. I think this could be a pivotal year for Desperate Housewives. It might not be back unless the show regains some of what disappeared after Season 1. Brothers & Sisters needs to build on what it brought from its freshman year and avoid the sophomore jinx. It's not the only one that needs to be careful of that this year.

If it's Sunday on CBS, it must be 60 Minutes. Just a year shy of four decades. Viva Laughlin gets a very late start with a preview on October 18. Cold Case has become a solid performer on Sunday. I didn't catch much of Shark, but the move to Sunday could help.

The CW tries something different with CW Now and Online Nation. I like the attempt, and it's in the right spot, just like Life is Wild. Not sure if any of these will fly, but it's good to see something that makes a little sense for a change.

NBC. Sunday. Football. At least until midseason when Law & Order returns along with the premiere of Lipstick Jungle.

Fox, as usual, is very animated on Sunday. (Groan.) The Simpsons draws into Season 18. Not bad for characters that started out as a segment on another show. Peggy and Hank Hill of King of the Hill are back for their 12th season. While Stewie and Brian of Family Guy (fresh off their Emmy appearance) and American Dad end the night.

Sunday Night Football is the easy winner and that makes the night NBC's until Football ends, then it's probably ABC's depending on NBC's midseason slate. Each net seems to really define itself for Sunday.
