Struggling as a bartender and surrogate mom to her teenage sister, Jaime Sommers (Michelle Ryan, EastEnders) didn't think life could get much harder. But when a devastating car accident leaves her at death's door, Jaime's only hope for survival is a cutting-edge, top-secret technology that comes at a hefty price.

With a whole new existence and a debt to re-pay, Jaime must figure out how to use her extraordinary abilities for good -- while weighing the personal sacrifices she will have to make. Ultimately, it's Jaime's journey of self-discovery and inner strength that will help her embrace her new life as the Bionic Woman in this new action-drama series.

my take
At first, I was appalled, as the original Bionic Woman was very important in my formative years. Then I remembered Battlestar Galactica. The buzzword around town is "reimagining." Remakes aren't doing so well anymore, so we'll take a known success and think of it in a different way. David Eick and Glen Morgan pulled off something with "Galactica" I didn't think possible: they took what essentially was cartoonish (no disrespect intended) and made it into something amazing.

The reimagined Bionic Woman might be as close to a must-see sample as anything this season. Late news out of Burbank is that Glen Morgan has parted ways due to the standard 'creative differences' and Mae Whitman was replaced with Lucy Hale. That's a smidge troubling for it to happen this close to the premiere. I'm looking forward to seeing what they've come up with. The encore plays on SciFi will help build a fan base. Please have the Lindsay Wagner cameo early.
