Lots of the same on Thursday, with a long goodbye as well. The CW stays the same as last year and who'd have thought that Smallville (Season 8) would be the third-longest running drama on the fall sked behind NBC's Law & Order: SUV (Season 10) and ER (Season 15). ABC and CBS keep their 8 and 9pm hours the same, even with the slight dropoff all shows showed last season. Each brings on a new 10pm entry. Fox has the seriously weird new game show followed by more Kitchen Nightmares. NBC brings back Earl, The Office, 30 Rock and the final season of ER with one new comedy and three-weeks of election-themed primetime Saturday Night Live.
Can NBC generate enough life out of ER to hold off Life on Mars and Eleventh Hour? Both Grey's or a William Peterson-less CSI should be in the Top 5 of scripted programming (House took the scripted crown last year.)
CBS takes 8pm, 9pm will vary each week and 10pm is anyone's guess.
