"It's Friday I'm in love..." — The Cure, 1992
Friday has always been a difficult night to program. ABC is going with a mix of reality and news. CBS hammocks one new drama between two established ones. The CW brings back two comedies before an encore of televised modeling, while Fox goes all game show. NBC keeps moving America's Toughest Jobs not once from Monday, but into two different slots on the same night. Don't be suprised if it disappears because no one know where it is. It's a new journey back to the late 1600s for NBC before Howie and his briefcases. The Peacock ends the night with the surprising return of Life.

The night is so undecided, it's really anyone guess. I give CBS the edge simply because their two returning dramas are, well, returning.

The cable side gives us season 2 of The Starter Wife on USA (Oct 10, 10pm) and season 5 of Stargate: Atlantis on SciFi (Oct 10, 9pm).

CBS takes 8pm, unless Crusoe turns out to be a breakout hit, which I don't expect. I can't call the 9pm hour. I figure the 10pm hour with have all three networks split by less than half of a point, unless 20/20 has a compelling story.
