Two of the new shows with the biggest buzz live on Tuesday. The CW's 90210 and Fox's Fringe air at 8 and 9, respectively. ABC tries its hand with a new game show followed by some dancing and a former bubble show, Eli Stone. CBS goes with now-stalwart NCIS (which holds its own against the Idol Death Star) followed by The Mentalist and the new-to-Tuesday Without A Trace. The CW's hopes are pinned on the aforementioned 90210 and the new Privileged. If these two don't click with viewers, the CW's days could very well be numbered. Fox brings back the acerbic House and the all-new and buzzworthy Fringe. Fox could really use another hit that doesn't have Idol in its name. NBC returns with a two-hour edition of The Biggest Loser followed by Law & Order: SVU.
Cable offers the final and 7th season of The Shield (in my opinion, the best cop show ever) over on FX at 10.
The sitcom-free night looks relatively up in the air. NCIS and House are good for a dogfight at 8 with the race being too close to call. With three new entries at 9pm, they are going to be fighting for new viewers...viewers that aren't watching dancing or weight loss. (How did we get primetime shows about dancing and weight loss?) CBS and NBC will probably trade wins for the 10pm hour each week.
