"Rainy days and Mondays always get me down" — Carpenters, 1971
There's nothing to get down about Monday night TV. There's something for everyone, even if NBC is staggering their launches. I'd like to thank Les over at CBS for launching an entire night the way it was done back in the day: the night after the Emmys. Dancing, comedy and drama on ABC. Comedy times four, followed by Sunglasses on CBS. Oversexed teens on the CW. Ass kicking on Fox and reality/games with a drama preview on NBC until mid-September when they get into gear with a Spy & Action night.

ABC takes the 8pm hour, CBS probably takes 9pm with NBC close behind and if form is followed, the 10pm hour as well. ABC probably wins the night as long as they are dancing.

Cable gives us ESPN and Monday Night Football at 8 (Sep 8). TNT has the all-new Raising the Bar (Sep 1-15 at 10, then moves to 9pm, Sep 22). USA has Monday Night Raw at 9.

This is nearly what broadcast television should be like. As I said before, there really is something for everyone and oddly enough, the night isn't half bad.
