my take
NYPD Blue meets Quantum Leap. Fish out of water...with a big afro. I like it. It's the '70s once again for Sam Tyler. I don't think I'd want to be the continuity director on this show. If it becomes a hit (that's iffy: lots of behind the scenes drama including an alleged re-shooting of the pilot), fanboys will be scrutinizing for anything that's anachronistic. This should be fun if only to see polyester and lots of everything that is very un-P.C. It's got a good lead-in from Gray's Anatomy and ER's final season while CBS' new Eleventh Hour aren't going to run away with anything.
