→ The WB seems to be poised for an overall #4 finish. They're introducing four new sitcoms and two new dramas (both of which have received good buzz) to go with the three second season sitcoms (ok, "JKX: The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" isn't a sitcom...) from 01-02. The WB, somewhat like UPN and Fox, doesn't program after 10pm or anything on Saturday. (With their 3-hour movie night, you could say that ABC and NBC don't program Saturday either. No one should ever mention the "XFL.")

The WB Sunday is all-moved. They're pulling a "7th Heaven" for "Gilmore Girls" by creating a slot for "Gilmore Girls: Beginnings" which starts the series over to attract more viewers just like they did with "7th Heaven." "Charmed" and "Angel" have been moved to create well-planned drama Sunday on the WB. WB Monday starts "7th Heaven" in its seventh season and adds the well-paired family drama "Everwood." They're going to make some progress here. Tuesday on the WB is unchanged from last year and it shouldn't be. "Gilmore Girls" and "Smallville" combined helped edge the WB away from UPN. The WB Wednesday has "Dawson's Creek" (yes, it's still on) followed by the new "Birds of Prey." Tough room for "Birds..." since they're not going to get a strong lead-in from the "Creek." A mess. That's what I think the WB Thursday is. "Family Affair" and "Do Over" start the night. "Family" is a leading candidate to receive the first pink slip of the season and "Do Over" is in the wrong slot. "Jamie Kennedy" moves to 9p followed by "Off Centre." Good luck against "CSI" and "Will & Grace." The WB Friday is interesting. It smacks, in a good way, of ABC's mid-nineties TGIF block. "What I Like About You" kicks it off, followed by now-in-college "Sabrina." "Reba" returns for a second season and "Greetings from Tucson" ends the night. Expect a flip from "Sabrina" and "What I Like..." to solidify the night. "Greetings..." might be the most original sitcom of any net this year, but it's going to get lost in this slot.

The WB is ready to roll. Both of their dramas look good and their Friday comedy lineup could place higher than they are accustom to seeing. Things are good for The Frog.
