CBS Wednesday 1987: Oldest Rookie, Magnum, P.I., The Equalizer
Five new drams, one new sitcom, a major move and some November starts. Fox's Wednesday of Lie to Me and Hell's Kitchen won't start until after the MLB Postseason has concluded in November. CBS moves Survivor to Wednesday after 20 iterations on Thursday and will anchor the night nicely. Criminal Minds will chug along (much to my continued surprise) and the new The Defenders ends the Eye's night. It's in the wrong spot and should be swapped with Blue Bloods.

NBC starts the night with the new Undercovers, continues with the oldest active member of the Law & Order franchise and ends with the newest active member of the Law & Order franchise. The Peacock's closing act is all but guaranteed a hit, while the opening number is a bit weak. ABC's comedy Wednesday returns with one new entry and the now-Emmy® winning Modern Family leading the charge. The CW is still looking for America's Next Top Model and enters the world of college cheerleading.

The night definitely has something for everyone, including three new dramas to battle at 10pm. NBC will win that fight, but the overall night depends on what kind of legs Survivor has left as well as if I'm wrong about Undercovers.

It's ABC and CBS for a too-close-to-call first place, with a very close NBC following. Modern Family and Survivor slug it out for the winner of the night.
