The last hurrah for "Friends." Will it be a happy goodbye or will viewers wished Joey had already left for LA? Even with CBS making serious inroads, it's still NBC's night to lose. Maybe not for long.ABC kicks it off with the DOA "Threat Matrix" followed by the repositioned "Extreme Makeover" and "Primetime Thursday." No offense ABC, but I think you could try harder here.
CBS' Thursday is all returning and looks to possibly overtake NBC's whole evening. "Survivor" isn't Top 5 anymore into its seventh iteration, "CSI" isn't losing any ground and "Without A Trace" has given "ER" its biggest challenge ever.
The original "Must See TV" lineup for NBC Thursday is almost a shell of its former self, but is still a formidable foe. "Friends"' tenth and final season begins the night, followed by the critically adored "Scrubs." "Will & Grace" holds its own against "CSI" while the all-new "Coupling" needs to not be a "Friends" clone while attracting interest and push viewers to the somewhat fading "ER."
UPN is all about smackdown, "WWE Smackdown" that is. You get what you get when you're talking about the WWE.
The WB tries a comedy night again (last year's failed miserably) for Thursday. At least they've got better offerings, including a reality comedy block to start followed by the moved "What I Like About You" and the new "Run of the House." After NBC and CBS, I'm not sure there'll be anyone left to sample these.
