opinions
Although she could easily hold her own in the role, casting Eliza Dushku in a very different role from her time in the Buffyverse might backfire since most of her fans will be expecting something similar to that. That being said, concepts similar to this have been tried and not worked.
If you're sticking to a formula that mixes "Alias," "Groundhog Day" and a healthy dose of "C.S.I" style forensics, it sure helps to be able to put Eliza Dushku running, kicking and pouting in your reel. Production values look high and Dushku seems to be expanding her acting colors. It's a tough time slot, but it will offer something totally different from what the other networks are airing Thursdays at 8.
my thoughts on "Tru Calling"
Life support. It's different than the other offerings in the slot, but after "Friends" and "Survivor," who'll be left to sample this?
