Thanks to ABC's all-new Wednesday lineup of five new entries, Wednesday has nine new shows. The four comedies of Hank, The Middle, Modern Family and Cougar Town combines with the supernatural drama Eastwick re-launch the nite for ABC. They're somewhat linked, for instance if Hank bombs, it could lose viewers for the entire night -- still possible, but it's less of an issue in this new world with DVRs and online viewings. The shows are all important to each other. CBS is the only net with nothing altered from last year. No reason to mess with something that's working. The CW adds more of the same with The Beautiful Life at 9. It suits them, but it's not a threat to anyone. Fox has the results portion of Dance and it'll be interesting to see the number it puts up in the fall. It's a decent slot for it, but will get some push from the CW and Cycle 13 of Top Model. Glee is probably the most buzzed about show of the fall and should do well. TBL could suck a couple of viewers, but I don't expect anyone else to. NBC brings up the rear with Mercy (which I'm looking forward to sampling) and Law & Order: SVU. Leno is at 10 (notice a trend)?
The night goes to CBS, but the race for second will be one to watch.
