Courteney Cox stars as Jules, a recently divorced single mother exploring the honest truths about dating and aging in our beauty and youth obsessed culture, on Cougar Town, premiering Wednesday, September 23 (9:30-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. While most women in their twenties go through life experiencing the challenges and often humorous pitfalls of meeting men, Jules took on the responsibilities of marriage and raising a son. Now in her forties, she embarks on a journey to self-discovery whilst surrounded by fellow divorcees and singletons eager to live or re-live a time gone by.

my take
It pains me to think of Courteney Cox as a so-called cougar. Pains. That being said, she says that she likes playing her new character, Jules, more than any other she's played. Cougar Town (why two words?) is going to explore getting older, from the POV of a recently divorced, single mother. The combination of Bill Lawrence and Courteney Cox, on paper, is a hit waiting to happen. Unfortunately, the game isn't played on paper. According to ABC, Christa Miller is going to play the "sarcastic, unapologetic confidante." Too bad, I loved her as Jordan on Scrubs, but would have like to see Bill Lawrence's wife do something a bit different. Overall I don't expect it to be a breakout hit, but I think it'll chug along nicely.
