CBS is as stable as it's ever been. Letterman is now regularly beating the Conan Tonight Show and the Eye is launching just four new shows (that's only one more than The CW who programs a lot less).
Accidently On Purpose gets arguably the best new show launch slot this season and if it hits, CBS will legitimately have a real night of must see comedy since NBC in the 90s.
Sundays look strong with the addition of Three Rivers, while it's a bit risky for back-to-back new drama launches on Tuesday. NCIS: Los Angeles is probably the sure hit (on any network) of the season. Moving The Mentalist to the post-CSI slot works very well to command the higher ad rates of Thursdays -- even if the better move might have been The Good Wife in that slot.
Even NBC castoff Medium fits well on Friday. I wish they'd use (NBC, too) Saturday night to try something new instead of encore plays during the week. I get it, but we've got DVRs -- we really don't need instant encores.
One last thing, which I really like, is that CBS is doing an old-school rollout of their fall programming. Starting September 21, they're going (for the most part) night-by-night down the week and premiering everything all at once. Nice.
CBS has nothing whatsoever to worry about.
