Two parts, pre- and during "Idol" is the only way to discuss Tuesday. Before "Idol," the night is generally up for grabs, with CBS having the edge overall. Besides being on the WB, why "Gilmore Girls" doesn't get more viewers is beyond me. Second place is a race between Fox and ABC. UPN's "Sex, Love & Secrets" should generate a bit, even if the slot is crowded with new folks.

"NCIS" takes the early hour, with "Bones" a surprising second. "Commander In Chief" takes 9pm and "L&O: SVU" grabs the late slot.

Winners: pre-"Idol": "Law and Order: SVU" and "Commander in Chief."
Winner, during "Idol": predicted by a landslide, even if it's a little pitchy, "American Idol."
