Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films, as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary.

Coulson's team consists of Agent Grant Ward, highly trained in combat and espionage; Agent Melinda May, expert pilot and martial artist; Agent Leo Fitz, brilliant engineer; and Agent Jemma Simmons, genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker, Skye...

my take
If the phone book ('member those?) said, "From Joss Whedon" on it, I'd be interested. Less so here. It might not be a reflection of the content of the show, just the concept. It feels like we've seen it before. Which, here, we actually have. The Avengers. X-Men. Fantastic Four. the first season of Heroes. And on and on. I'm tired and would like something new. This'll obviously bring on all the comic book fanboys (and girls), along with big fans of "The Avengers," but I don't see it attracting new viewers to the franchise.
