On the heels of NBC's hit movie, the iconic 1980s television classic comes roaring back to life as an updated drama series showcasing the new customized KITT (Knight Industries Three Thousand) Ford Mustang. As the sequel resumes, KITT is absolutely the coolest car ever created: its supercomputer capable of hacking almost any system; its weapons systems efficient; and its body -- thanks to its creator's work and nanotechnology -- is capable of actually shifting shape and color. It is the ultimate car -- and someone will be willing to do anything to obtain it.

my take
Knight Rider: The Original meets CGI. My '80s nostalgia strings tug hard for this one, except I saw the back door pilot/2-hour movie earlier this year. I'm not feeling Bruening as Michael Knight's son, nor is Val Kilmer doing it for me as the voice of KITT. By the way, KITT is a Transformer now. Too much. Part of what made the original work were the randomness of the bad guys and the character interaction between Michael, Devon, Bonnie and KITT. I don't think Brandon Tartikoff would be proud and I don't expect this to be successful even with limited competition in the premiere slot. I'm not sure NBC is really that positive on this either. If they were, there would be a 2 hour premiere.
