The Alphabet returns with five new dramas and one new sitcom. Saturday, Sunday and Monday return intact and should produce results in line with last year. Some would say this iteration of Dancing With the Stars, will get a boost in viewers due to the addition of Bristol Palin.

Of the nine new shows that debuted either in the fall or at some point during the season, only V (season two debuts in November), Modern Family and Cougar Town are back. A great batting average, but not the best success rate. Seven shows that started last season are now history.

None of ABC's six new entries tickles my Elmo. In fact, I'm down on both My Generation as well as Detroit 1-8-7. Aside from a breakout any of the new players, ABC will be where it was last year.
