Golden Globe winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers stars in this provocative new drama as one of the world's most iconic characters. It's the late 19th century and the mysterious Dracula has arrived in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. He's especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night - useful for someone who avoids the sun.

He also has another reason for his travels: He hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier. Everything seems to be going according to plan...until he becomes infatuated with a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife...

my take
It was only a matter of time until NBC decided to cash in on the vampire craze. They do it by going back to the beginning. In this version of Dracula, he's got a secret identity (Wait, Dracula is Batman? No, not really.) and he's cavorting around Europe as an American entrepreneur. While I'm sure it's going to be gorgeous (how could you do 19th century London any other way?), but personally, I'm a bit sick of vampires. Pairs well with Grimm. Expectations have to be low for it to launch on Friday at 10pm. Not really making a prediction here, but I'd say watch this early.
