Haplin, Minnesota, "Happy Town," is approaching almost a decade of peace after being riddled for years by unsolved kidnappings. But in the wake of this small town's first crime in seven years, some dark truths are being revealed about some familiar faces. They say every town has its secrets... that doesn't even begin to describe Happy Town.

my take
On the surface, Haplin, Minnesota seems like an idyllic small town, but when the upfront clip mentions it's from the network that brought you Twin Peaks, you know all is most definitely not what it seems. Duh. There's very little about Happy Town out there at the moment (presumably since it's not slated to bow until midseason). I really could enjoy a show that creates the world of a small town. I have no idea why, but I find myself drawn to them. Unfortunately, as I've said many times, yet usually the same way: I feel like we've been here before. Granted that's just from the release and the difficult-to-find clip -- ABC's page for the show seems to appear and disappear depending on what I try to access it. I'll need more info to make a better guess, but as of now, I'd say watch early.
