What I Say
"CSI" is the first drama to give "ER" a run for its money -- in fact, it took it. "CSI" is the only drama to beat "ER" since "ER" began. "CSI: Miami" only ups the ante, especially if the two shows are very similar while being different. (How much of a network suit do I sound like?) Caruso would be wise NOT to leave this show after the first season. Interesting that Caruso's character will be Mulder to Delaney's Scully.
My Analysis & Prediction
Full season, easy. One of the only slam dunks of the season. "Crossing Jordan" built a very good audience for a first year drama, but this is going to beat that down. Top 15.
What They Say
It's like "CSI"... in Miami.
tvguide.jpgA spin-off of the current hit CSI: Crime Scene Investigation that's set in the Miami heat. Horatio Caine (David Caruso) heads a group of investigators, each with their own specialty, who use forensics to solve cases.

CSI MIAMI is a fast-paced drama inspired by the top-rated series CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION that follows a South Florida team of forensic investigators who use both cutting-edge scientific methods and old-fashioned police work to solve crimes. Horatio Caine, a former homicide detective, heads a group of investigators who work crimes amid the steamy tropical surroundings and cultural crossroads of Miami. His team includes Calleigh Duquesne, a bilingual Southern beauty with a specialty in ballistics; Tim Speedle, a cocky but disarming investigator who is well connected on the street; and Eric Deliko, an underwater recovery expert who knows all the twists and turns of the Florida waterways. Rounding out the team is Alexx Woods, the no-nonsense know-it-all coroner. Kim Delaney joins the cast as a DNA specialist whose trust in science creates conflict with Caine, who relies more on gut instinct. Together, these investigators collect and analyze the evidence to solve the crimes and to vindicate those who often cannot speak for themselves, the victims.
